The Benefits of a Long-Term Perspective

We all have stories we tell ourselves about our work and lives.  For example, the story you tell yourself about why you didn't get that donor funding.  Or the story about your relationship with your team.  Or the story about living in a pandemic.  What we forget sometimes is that our stories are just that - stories.  And how we tell our story impacts how we feel and consequently how we show up in our life.

So how do we make a negative story a more positive one?  It helps to have a long-term perspective of your current situation.  In this episode I provide an exercise you can do to create a long-term perspective, and how you may find the story you're telling yourself may not be as true as you thought.
